Prayer for Japan: May the Japanese Emperor Choose to Serve God Almighty

The Emperor of Japan will be abdicating soon, and now is a great time to pray that the dark forces that blind the eyes of Japanese to the truth be broken down and that the new emperor will reject the deification ceremony that spits in the face of the millions of Japanese soldiers who died believing the lie that the emperor was God.

When surveyed, most Japanese people do not believe that the emperor is really God, but they still are willing to go to the shrines throughout the country that promote this lie. They still are willing to participate for the sake of keeping their Japanese identity. Most Japanese people don’t have the courage to step outside the box to be different from everybody else, because in a world of conformity, it’s too frightening to stray too far from home base.

Could it be that this Daijosai ceremony is truly once again a way of forcing the emperor’s deity on the Japanese public? The previous emperor announced unequivocally to a badly beaten population, “I am not God,” but could it be that Japan is making the same mistake twice? Is this the spiritual block that has missionaries here in derision? Are we about to see a great spiritual revival in Japan unlike anything we have seen before?

Dear God,

We pray that Crown Prince Naruhito will choose to serve you, the living God–the God of the Bible. We pray that all spiritual forces of darkness that lie heavily over this country will be broken down and that hearts will be changed. We pray for a great spiritual awakening. We pray for repentance that this country so desperately needs. Have mercy on Japan, oh Lord. Have mercy.

In Jesus’ Name,

Amen

Thou shalt have none other gods before me.

Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth:

Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me,

And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.

(The 10 Commandments, KJV)
